" And I knew him not..." —John 1:33(KJV _____________________ You are a priest, and it is no longer enough for you to just know about God, you must know Him by the Spirit. It is possible to be in a situation like John the Baptist, where you are in ministry and proclaiming the correct things concerning God, and yet you may not truly know Him, until the Spirit confirms what you have known. John said, “I knew Him not,” even after announcing, “Behold the Lamb of God!” Whatever knowledge you posses must be confirmed by the Spirit to become true knowledge. Until the Spirit descended and remained, John’s knowledge was incomplete. He only bore record after he saw the Spirit descend on Jesus. You must move beyond intellectual and emotional assumptions about Jesus, your calling, or even other people because until the Spirit opens your inner eye and gives you insight, you know nothing! As a priest, your discernment must go deeper. You are not called to operate by familiarity or assumption.
