👉🏻Topic of the day:- TYPES OF ANGINA 👈🏻
⭐1. Stable Angina (Exertional Angina)
-Cause: Fixed atherosclerotic plaque narrowing coronary arteries
-Symptoms: Predictable chest pain on exertion, stress, or heavy meals
.Relieved by rest or nitrates
-Duration: <15 minutes
-ECG: ST depression during pain
-Management: Lifestyle changes, nitrates, beta-blockers, aspirin
⭐2. Unstable Angina (Pre-infarction Angina)
-Cause: Rupture of atherosclerotic plaque → partial thrombus formation
-Symptoms :-Pain at rest or minimal exertion
.Increasing intensity, frequency, or duration
-Red Flag: Medical emergency → can lead to myocardial infarction
-ECG: ST depression or T wave inversion
-Management: Hospitalization, antiplatelets, anticoagulants, nitrates, angioplasty
⭐3. Variant Angina (Prinzmetal’s Angina)
-Cause: Coronary artery spasm, often in younger patients
-Symptoms:Occurs at rest, often at night or early morning
.Not related to exertion
-ECG: Transient ST elevation during attack (resolves after)
-Management: Nitrates and calcium channel blockers; beta-blockers are avoided.
⭐4. Silent Ischemia (Silent Angina)
-Cause: Ischemia without pain; common in diabetics, elderly, or post-CABG patients
-Symptoms:No chest pain, but may have fatigue, dyspnea, or ECG changes
-Diagnosis: Detected on ECG, Holter monitor, or stress test
-Management: Same as stable angina
