*#therundown: Legislative Week in Review (May 27–29, 2025)* The House of Representatives demonstrated continued commitment to responsive governance and legislative excellence during the week under review. A special plenary marked Children’s Day 2025, with symbolic youth inclusion as the Speaker’s Chair was vacated for a student participant. The House adopted a resolution urging the Federal Government to prioritise child welfare, expand ICT access in rural areas, and review the Child Rights Act. Further resolutions addressed national concerns, including a motion on structured reintegration for internally displaced persons (IDPs), a legislative probe into reported irregularities in student loan disbursements, and urgent intervention to address operational decay in Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in the United States. The House also held a solemn valedictory session in honour of five late Members of the 10th Assembly. On fiscal and institutional matters, the House received President Tinubu’s request for external borrowing to support infrastructure and pension obligations. The FCT ₦1.814 trillion budget was formally laid, while four major tax reform bills were considered and adopted. In total, seven bills were passed, and six others scaled Second Reading; reinforcing the House’s dedication to national development through proactive lawmaking. #housengr
