EAR AND HEARING "And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Mark 4:9" Jesus Christ said to His audience that those who had ears to hear, let them hear. Jesus knew those who were present at His sermon to listen and do the Word of God and those who were present at His sermon for their own ungodly motives. Jesus Christ also displayed the difference between hearing and listening. Hearing is the physical ability of the ear to detect sound, and listening is the skill of making sense of and understanding the words spoken. When Jesus said those who have ears to hear, let them hear, He was speaking to those who had come to the sermon to understand the Word of God and to carry it out. Today Jesus Christ is interested in and close to Christians who are doing His Word or His will (John 14:21). Dear beloved, do you listen to do the Word of God, or do you just hear it?
