Thyme scientific name thymus vulgaris, Family Lamiaceae (mint family). originated from the Mediterranean region. The plant type is perennial herb. A common form is fresh leaves, dried leaves, and thyme oil. Thyme is a fragrant herb widely used for culinary, medicinal, and ornamental purposes. It has small greenish-gray leaves and pink to lilac flowers. Its flavor is earthy, slightly minty, and peppery.
