*DISOBEDIENT SONS* We have to take the time. Gone are the days when we just stand up on Sunday and preach a word. That is not enough. That way is short of enough. We have to take the Joshua’s of this world and set them down, one on one, and speak into their life. We have to mentor, coach, develop, and train. We have to help them root out the cancers that have come from generations of polluted sacrifices. Let me show you why this is important. Hannah prayed for a son (1 Samuel 1) while Peninnah had sons every year. Hannah came to the temple one day and received the power of God on her life. Boom! Then came Samuel. Samuel was born to Hannah. Elkanah had these two wives in the house, then Samuel was born and there were all kinds of mouths fighting for the same plate. Samuel’s first experience in that household was the other children. Peninnah mocked Hannah for years, so it reasons that her kids were obnoxious and had a gang mentality. *Eli, Hophni and Phineas* At a young age Samuel was taken and put in Eli’s house. The only way he could get close to God was he had to go to Eli. Samuel lived with two older boys, the sons of Eli, named Hophni and Phineas. Samuel came into the house of God and was exposed to Eli’s disobedient sons, unspiritual leaders, immoral wheeler-dealers who polluted the altar. The bible says they manipulated the altar. The scripture was clear that for the priest to be fed, he had to put a flesh hook into the sacrifice and pull out the flesh. Whatever came on the flesh hook was their portion. It was a principle of intercession. When the priest put the flesh hook in to a person’s sacrifice, and pulled out a portion of the flesh, what was on the flesh hook God was showing them what needed intercession. If they pulled flesh from the shoulder, then they had to pray for governmental issues. If they pulled flesh from the arm, which is the foreleg, they had to pray for the building mechanism in the land. If they pulled flesh out of the neck it was control or headship issues. Or, flesh from the back area would mean they needed to pray concerning prosperity issues. Whatever flesh was on the flesh hook God was revealing to the priest the focus for intercession. Hophni and Phineas did not do that! They decided to pray what they wanted to pray and eat what they wanted to eat. They polluted the altar. They had sexual intercourse with women in the house of God, and there was a child raised in that corrupt spiritual environment. Eli was a father who was old, obese and blind. He would not address the misconduct of his sons. Samuel was raised in that environment. Samuel’s mother had more sense than that whole bunch that was supposed to be custodians of the glory. Every year without fail she brought Samuel a new garment; and according to her intercession and her understanding, the garment fit perfectly. He grew in one year and she anticipated by intercession how much he grew. As a mother who did not serve in the house of God but pursued a ministry for her son, the fathers could not recognize Samuel’s growth because Eli did not address things with his sons. Eli allowed his sons to mortgage the glory of God for over a century by taking the ark into a battle that God did not approve. At the age of nine, then, Samuel has to be entrusted with a national plan because Eli who was 90 years old disqualified himself by permitting disorder among his sons. In other words, Samuel was at the place of governmental birthing but he was still a baby. Samuel at the age of nine was more grown up than Eli! God had to give this kid a national plan, and impose on a child the weight of a nation spiritually, economically, and politically. Samuel never had a life because the fathers were babies! Samuel carried this well. It is important that sons obey, but if they do not have anybody to help them obey a thing, then they are burdened before their time of full maturity. In my heart as an individual, I have always wanted to do right. I still want to do right. I never want to mess up in any way, not even going to the wrong meeting or the wrong place. I could be anywhere. I would love to be at home more than anywhere else, but sons obey. Sons obey. God is raising up a generation of men and women in the world that want to obey, where ministry is not about the games but about obedience. Sons will go to a meeting and obey the father. *Prayer* Father, we pray for the spirit of obedience upon every son. We pray God that You will give men that are fathers sons that want to obey, that are willing to obey. We pray God that You will lighten up the soil around the world, and that You will ripen the soil of the sons around the world. We pray for You to raise up sons on which the Kingdom of God is featured and predicated. For all the men and women that are reading this message all over the world, I pray that You will impose upon us great grace to raise up sons because our sons have to prophesy. They have to see visions. I pray that You will give us the grace, the methodology, and the information to raise up sons and speak into the lives of sons. We ask You, Lord, for this in the mighty name of Jesus. *Amen.* We also have kids ministering that are orphans. We will now pray a prayer that God will raise up fathers to start a literal ministry of helps, to help some people find their way. The men and the women that God has entrusted to you, you have to help these people. They do not know and they need somebody to help them. Everywhere I go there is this cry for help and they do not get help. They get brochures, and partner itinerary meeting schedules. They are not getting help, but a down line of marketing. Please help somebody. If you are an orphan, I pray that in the course of this year that God will lead you to a real father that does not want your tithing, but wants you because you are an orphan. I now pray Lord for men and women that You called to be fathers, for some of us that You called to be sons. I pray God that You will lead us and direct us to the right individuals, even if it is one person.
