Pride ☠️ has an ending Acts 12:22 NLT — The people gave him a great ovation, shouting, “It’s the voice of a god, not of a man!” Lord, I pray this morning that I remain who you made me. I am more stronger in my natural self, than to be artificial. Lord, can I not be deceived by position and or possessions. I want to please you in the capacity you would have given to me. Your joy is my strength. Holy Spirit, speak to us this morning. In Jesus's name, amen Pride gives birth to lying. They walk hand in hand. They share a meal. They give comfort to each other. Pride drives away pity. Pride is a dangerous pedestal. The higher the pedestal, the weaker the balance. My brothers and sisters, take a deep breath and retain your footstool on the ground. It was pride that drove Lot into choosing the valley that landed him into Sodom and Gomorrah. I always wonder what happened to all those servants and his animals that caused him to separate from his uncle. Pride, destroys. Imagine, a man of Lot's stature, spending time sitting by the entrance into the city. Pride demotes you. If it was not for Abraham's prayers, Lot could have died in Sodom and Gomorrah. He went in rich, but came out poor, and running for his life. It was pride that caused Pharaoh and his advisers to fight God. Plague after plague, he resisted the request to let Israel, go. Pharaoh didn't realise that his pride was drawing the entire nation to a catastrophic moment. My fellow leaders, we need to stop before God stops us. In whatever capacity or position we find ourselves in, let us be humble. The last brick at the top of the wall is not stronger than the one in the foundation. May God open your spiritual eyes so that you can see the slippery road you are walking on. Pride also births arrogance (manyawi in shona). Instead of you saying, God can help us do it, it will be, we can do it. Remember the story of the first battle between Israel and Ai? Pride caused them not to consult God first like they used to do before. They believed they had enough fire power to push Ai out of the way. Never leave God out of your activities regardless of the size of the program. You need God more than he needs you. It is not money that you need to see through the project. It is the presence of God that you need. Moses never sank boreholes in the wilderness, yet water was supplied in abundance. Listen, it is not too late to throw pride away and get God involved. Today's scripture reading paints a sad story. King Herod Agrippa allowed pride and power to enter his head. Then bible records that, he was very angry against the people of Tyre and Sidon. Though the bible does not state what they had done to anger Herod Agrippa, Tyre and Sidon were known for idolatry. Maybe, King Herod Agrippa wanted to also be worshipped too. Tyre and Sidon begged the king for a rebirth of their relationship. They wanted peace. Instead of being humble and meet with them, he dressed up and set on his throne. OMG, Lord forgive us. We have strayed away from you. Herod Agrippa made a speech and the people gave him a standing ovation 👏. We all know what followed the standing ovation. It was his death. My brother, come back to the ground and let God (who is already above you) give the speech. Elder Josphat Murape +260976749389 11/6/2025
