📍Fact 3 _Familiarity is a product of having much knowledge about the leader._ Mark 6:5-6: 5. "And He could do no mighty work there, save that He laid His hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them." 6. "And He marveled because of their unbelief. And He went round about the villages, teaching." A leader must maintain a degree of privacy. In the above scripture, with all the ability and power that Jesus had, He couldn't function in His own hometown, not because He lacked ability, but because the people in the city had too much knowledge about Him. Because of that, they doubted and criticized Him; they rejected Him. He was limited to only laying hands on a few who were sick, unable to do more miracles, because the people didn't believe. Sometimes, when you expose yourself too much to people and they know too much about you, it can hinder God from working through you. This is so practical; I've experienced it in my life. I've seen that the fewer people I expose myself to, the more they listen when I have a message from God. One event that comes to mind is a marriage that was breaking down near me. I could notice the problems and character issues of the people involved, but I couldn't speak any words of wisdom or offer practical advice. I could only pray for them. Eventually, they went their way because they needed wisdom, knowledge, and counseling, which I couldn't provide directly. This was because of lack of faith; they just saw me as ordinary, and I couldn't offer the specific guidance they needed. This is because it's my hometown, and these are people who grew up knowing me. Whenever we're doing things for God, probably they're just saying that He's trying His luck. Maintain a degree of privacy when handling your issues so that people cannot become too familiar with you.
