The Sudan Family Planning Association participated in the Women's Solidarity Conference in South Africa as a representative of Sudanese civil society organizations. Dr. Lamia Abdelghafar, the association’s program director, delivered a speech via remote connection, highlighting the violations women have faced during Sudan’s war and the association’s efforts to provide care and protection, especially for displaced women. She called on international organizations to support local initiatives in addressing women’s health and psychological needs and ensuring services for survivors of gender-based violence. The association’s participation was highly praised, including by the Sudanese embassy in South Africa.
