Hello everyone, I'm Robert L. Newman III, a self-taught multidisciplinary artist based in Harlem, New York. After earning my degree from Morehouse College in 2014, I spent eight years in the financial sector, including roles at Morgan Stanley and Neuberger Berman. In 2022, I transitioned to pursue my passion for art full-time. My work focuses on expressionist portraits that delve into themes of Black history, abstraction, and the celebration of Black American artists and civil rights leaders. Drawing inspiration from my roots in the South and my grandmother's legacy as a self-taught artist in Tulsa's historic Greenwood district, I aim to create pieces that reflect resilience and cultural heritage.
