“In a world that often tries to divide us, literature remains one of the lost sacred spaces where we can live inside each other’s minds, if only for a few pages”
Huge congratulations to writer Banu Mushtaq and translator Deepa Bhasthi on winning the International Booker Prize 2025 for Heart Lamp, a collection of short stories originally written in Kannada where writer-lawyer-activist Banu Mushtaq exquisitely captures the everyday lives of women and girls in Muslim communities in southern India.
