*I am hoping this reaches every hiring manager*🙏 Dear Hiring Managers: Treat Job Candidates Like People First When someone comes in for a job interview, remember this—they’re a person first. They’ve likely spent time preparing, they might be nervous, and they’re hoping for a fair shot. They’re not just a name on paper or a role to be filled. Treating them with basic human respect, no matter the outcome, should be a non-negotiable part of the process. Unfortunately, some candidates leave interviews feeling ignored, rushed, or even belittled. That kind of experience doesn’t just hurt them—it reflects badly on your company. People talk. And how you treat someone in the interview can shape how they and others view your organization. A good interview experience, even if the person doesn’t get the job, builds goodwill. It shows that your company values people, not just productivity. Remember, interviews go both ways. You're judging whether they’re right for the job—but they’re also deciding if they want to work with you. So, show up on time. Listen carefully. Be kind. And no matter what, let every candidate walk away with their dignity. Because how you treat people when you don’t need anything from them is what truly defines your culture.
