BSNL reported its second consecutive quarterly profit after 18 years, with a reduced annual net loss of ₹2,247 crore in FY25 (down from ₹5,371 crore in FY24). This was aided by shifting ₹1,042 crore of employee costs to Capital Work-in-Progress and asset sales, though auditors flagged concerns over ₹1,031.5 crore of such allocation and underfunding of retirement benefits by ₹583.7 crore.
