👉 Flanges are essential components used to connect pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment in piping systems. They provide easy access for cleaning, inspection, or modification. Flanges come in several types based on design and application:

1️⃣ Weld Neck Flange (WN): Features a long tapered hub that is welded to the pipe. Ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature applications due to its strength and stress distribution.
2️⃣ Slip-On Flange (SO): Slides over the pipe and is welded on both inside and outside. Easier to install and cheaper than weld neck flanges, but less robust.
3️⃣ Socket Weld Flange (SW): Pipe is inserted into a socket and welded. Suitable for small-diameter, high-pressure systems.

4️⃣ Lap Joint Flange (LJ): Used with a stub end, it is not welded to the pipe itself, allowing for easy alignment and dismantling. Ideal for systems requiring frequent disassembly.
5️⃣ Threaded Flange (TH): Screws onto a pipe with male threads. Used in low-pressure, non-critical applications, often where welding is not practical.
6️⃣ Blind Flange (BL): A solid flange used to close the end of a pipe or vessel. Ideal for pressure testing and maintenance.

7️⃣ Orifice Flange: Special flange set used with orifice meters for flow measurement, typically including pressure taps.
Each type is selected based on pressure, temperature, and service requirements, ensuring safe and efficient piping system design.
