👉 Heat exchangers are devices that transfer thermal energy between two or more fluids at different temperatures without mixing them. They are widely used in power plants, HVAC, refrigeration, and chemical processes.

Working Principle:
👉 The basic principle is heat transfer through conduction and convection. One fluid flows through tubes or plates while another flows over them in the opposite (counterflow), same (parallel flow), or perpendicular (crossflow) direction. Heat moves from the hotter fluid to the cooler one through the exchanger surface.
Types of Heat Exchangers:
1️⃣ Shell and Tube:
💠 One fluid flows through a bundle of tubes; the other flows over the tubes inside a larger shell.
💠 Common in oil refineries and power plants.

2️⃣ Plate Heat Exchanger:
💠 Uses thin, corrugated metal plates stacked to create parallel flow channels.

3️⃣ Air Cooled (Fin Fan):
💠 Uses air to cool fluid in tubes with fins for better heat dissipation.
💠 Common in remote or outdoor installations.

4️⃣ Double Pipe:
💠 One pipe inside another; fluids flow in opposite directions.
💠 Simple and compact; used for small-scale applications.
5️⃣ Spiral Heat Exchanger:
💠 Fluids move in spiral flow paths for compactness and high efficiency.
💠 Suitable for viscous or fouling fluids.
Each type is selected based on temperature, pressure, fluid type, and required efficiency.
