NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT OF NOMINATION FORM SALES AND ELECTORAL GUIDELINES The Electoral Commission of the Great Ife Students’ Union wishes to inform all students of Obafemi Awolowo University that the sale of nomination forms for the 2024/2025 Students’ Union elections has officially commenced. 📍 Venue: SUB TV Room 🕙 Time: 10:00 AM 📅 Start Date: Wednesday, 18th June 2025 https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb3noLI0AgW3fTvzK31w 🔹 GUIDELINES FOR CONTESTANTS 1. FORM REQUIREMENTS All completed forms must be returned with the following: Photocopy of student clearance certificate for the session. Accommodation clearance (for Hall Executive Council aspirants only). One extra passport photograph with name and post written at the back. Soft copy (JPEG format) of passport photograph to: [email protected] 2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Must be a registered student for the 2023/2024 academic session. CEC and SRC aspirants must have completed at least one academic session. HEC aspirants must be legal occupants of the hall they intend to represent. Minimum CGPA of 2.5 required (except for Part 1 HEC aspirants). 3. SCREENING REQUIREMENTS Aspirants must bring: Valid school ID card or stamped course form. Original, stamped CGPA confirmation document. Clearance certificate. Accommodation clearance (HEC aspirants). A passport photo (name & post at the back). 4. SPONSORS Two sponsors (registered students) are required. Each must attach photocopies of their ID card and clearance certificate. Sponsors for HEC candidates must also provide accommodation clearance. 5. CAMPAIGN GUIDELINES Campaign must remain issue-based; no abusive, ethnic, or inflammatory language. Hall PA systems, colored posters, and wall defacement are prohibited. Campaign ends on Manifesto Night. 6. CONDUCT Harassment or intimidation of any kind will attract strict penalties. Harassment of electoral/adhoc staff may void results in affected faculties. 7. AGENTS Submit names of 13 election agents with nomination form. Agents must bring student ID or stamped course form to polling venue. No agent substitutions within 48 hours of election. Non-students cannot act as agents. 8. OTHER KEY NOTES Diploma students are ineligible to vote or contest. Completed forms must be submitted on or before 21st June 2025. False submissions or misconduct will lead to immediate disqualification. The list of all qualified contestants will be pasted 48 hours before the election. No campaign material is allowed at the election venue.
