Court Grants Ex-CBN Governor Emefiele N2 Billion Bail. A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday granted bail in the sum of N2 billion to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, following his arraignment on an eight-count charge. Justice Yusuf Halilu, who delivered the ruling, said Emefiele had previously been granted bail in three other pending criminal cases and noted that there was no evidence that he had ever violated bail conditions. Emefiele is accused of offences including the unlawful acquisition of a 753-unit housing estate, alleged th£ft, and control of billions of naira through proxy accounts.
