The judge granted bail on the condition that Emefiele must produce two sureties who each own property worth N2 billion within the FCT—specifically in Asokoro, Maitama, or Wuse 2.
In addition, Emefiele is required to submit his travel documents to the court and perfect the bail conditions by next Wednesday or risk being remanded in custody. The ruling followed a bail application by Emefiele’s counsel, Matthew Burkaa (SAN).
The prosecuting lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), did not oppose the application but requested the court to impose additional bail conditions different from those earlier granted by other courts.
