The Free State Office's Provincial Manager and Education Officer, Leandi Esterhuizen and Boitumelo Zwane, attended a training session for the Mangaung Metro Municipality GBVF Rapid Response Team. The session, hosted by the Mangaung Metro Municipality, COGTA, and SALGA supported by the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities sought to equip participants on the localisation of the NSP-GBVF and the role of various roleplayers, amongst others. The Commission attended the session in its monitoring capacity to assess the training's effectiveness, noting issues raised by participants, particularly Civil Society Organisations and government stakeholders. "The issues and concerns raised here highlight the plight of GBVF victims and those tasked to respond to this ongoing pandemic", said Provincial Manager, Leandi Esterhuizen.
