The Mpumalanga Office conducted a Gender and Development workshop yesterday with the Senior Management Team of the Gert Sibande TVET College, Perdekop campus. The workshop aimed to empower duty bearers and role players responsible for the students safety and on inclusivity. The workshop also centered its approach on capacitating management with safe space creation knowledge for the protection of all students of all sexual orientations, and all workers at the campus. The workshop was informed by the prevalence of GBVF in our institutions of Higher Learning. Management of the campus agreed that there is a need for more capacity-building workshops for both management and students' leadership. Furthermore, they emphasized that there is also a need for gender mainstreaming to transform the college's policies and its framework on how it should look at issues of GBVF and transformation within the Perdekop TVET College Campus.
