The Commission attended a ProBono Symposium on the Rights of Children which was a reflection on South Africa's commitment to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Chairperson of the Commission, Adv. Nthabiseng Sepanya-Mogale spoke on the intersectionality of children’s rights and gender, wherein she emphasized the importance of education on inclusivity. To this, the Chairperson referenced Section 9 of the Constitution, stating how some children continue to be targeted due to their sexual orientation, something that should not continue to happen and thus the importance of education to empower children on their rights.
