*Oil Spill in Oistins, Christ Church – Contained* Barbados National Energy Company Ltd. (BNECL) confirms that earlier today, the team at its Fairy Valley location was alerted to an oil spill in the Oistins area, Christ Church. BNECL personnel responded promptly, and all relevant emergency and environmental personnel are on site. The spill has been successfully contained, and cleanup operations are currently underway. To facilitate these efforts, the road from the Y-junction by the Oistins Police Station to the bottom of Oistins Hill is temporarily closed to vehicular traffic. Pedestrians and commuters are also asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the public for its patience and cooperation. An update will be provided once the road has been safely reopened.
