13 tons of Rotten Potatoes imported via Torkham Returned
Ajmal Subhani, the spokesperson for the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in Nangarhar, informed Radio Hurriyat that the Plant Quarantine Management team at Torkham Port intercepted 13 metric tons of spoiled potatoes that had been brought in from Pakistan.
This shipment, imported by a local company, was flagged by the Department of Agriculture officials and was subsequently sent back to Pakistan.
The Nangarhar Department of Agriculture reiterated its call for all traders to avoid bringing in low-quality goods.
In the past, the Nangarhar Department of Agriculture has successfully identified and prevented the entry of substandard products from Pakistan, ensuring they are returned to their originating country.
