Salang Highway opened for freight traffic The Ministry of Public Works has declared the resumption of freight vehicle movement on the primary stretch of the Salang Highway. This route had been shut to heavy goods vehicles of all kinds on June 10. According to Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, a ministry representative, freight vehicles are now permitted to travel without hindrance on both sides of the road around the clock using the designated alternative route. Additionally, the Ministry of Public Works has initiated repair efforts on the Doshi-Bamyan and Dohni-Dara road sections, aiming to swiftly make them accessible for vehicular traffic.
