WATCH | PSL trophies over the years - what do you think of the new design? When the now-defunct Manning Rangers won the title in the inaugural season of the restructured PSL in the 1996/97 season, the Mighty Maulers lifted the traditional cup with big ‘ears’. The design of the trophy later changed when banking giants Absa assumed sponsorship from 2007 until 2020. SuperSport United kept the cup after winning it for the third time in 2009, and a new one was designed. Enter DStv in 2020, and a different trophy was launched, which would later be kept for good by Mamelodi Sundowns after they won it multiple times. This season, Betway came in as the Premiership headline sponsor and only unveiled the trophy on the day it was handed over to Sundowns on 17 May.
