The NMBM Metro Police and Mo Jazz, a group of young Gender-Based Violence (GBV) activists, came together to engage and empower the youth of Motherwell in light of youth day. In a meaningful conversation, the team spoke to youth about the importance of this significant day and the need to stand together to end GBV in South Africa. The event aimed to educate and empower the youth about their rights, the significance of Youth Day, and the need to work together to create a safer and more just society. GBV is a pervasive issue in South Africa, with many young people being affected by it. The team emphasized the need for young people to be aware of their rights and to stand together to prevent GBV. They discussed the importance of promoting healthy relationships, consent, and respect for one another. The Metro Police and SAPS played a crucial role in the event, providing a safe and secure environment for the youth to engage in discussions and activities, while trying to empower the youth with the knowledge and and skills necessary to prevent GBV and promote a culture of respect and empathy. #youthmonth2025 #allhandsondeck #metroatwork #siyasebenza #buildingtheeasterncapewewant #anationthatworksforall
