*In The Norton Times this week*
The next edition of our weekly pdf is coming up just after noon, today.
So, what can you expect?
Well, remember we are now just six months away from another edition of the Golden Footprints Awards. Planning is already underway towards delivering an even better event come December.
This year, the Golden Footprints Awards have a strong bias towards soccer, but we have retained some categories for Norton music and a Community Champion Award for a heroic act that benefitted some members of the Norton community. More on that later.
This week’s issue of The Norton Times is, as usual at the beginning of each month, a “Coaches’ Special”. We announce the Coach of the Month for each of the leagues we are targeting for the Golden Footprints. However, depending with the info we can access, for some leagues we just have a Team of the Month, instead of Coach of the Month.
We are also glad to announce that we have our targeted leagues in the cross-hairs now, following each one of them for results, goalscorers and goalkeepers.
Coaches of the Month will not only be special guests at our awards. They will also help us come up with a shortlist for the Player of the Year, from which fans will then contribute towards choosing the winner. We will have a Player of the Year for each league!
In addition, we will have a Top Goalscorer, King/Queen of Goals, King/Queen Shotstopper and King/Queen of Cleansheets, also for each league.
Then, obviously, the Coach of the Year!
This week in The Norton Times, expect to see the announcement of a Coach of the Month or Team of the Month for:
● Premier Soccer League
●Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League
●Northern Region Soccer League
●Southern Region Women’s Soccer League
●Midlands Province Division 2 League
●Mashonaland West Women’s Soccer League Stream B
●Harare Province Women’s Soccer League
●Mashonaland West Junior Football League Stream B
●Norton Area Zone Soccer League
Having announced our May Track of the Month last week, the point of interest on the music front this week is the weekly chart. How are the tracks doing in terms of average voting numbers? Don’t miss the Top 10 update.
As earlier stated, while soccer is the main meal at the Golden Footprints this year, there is space for music and community acts of courage.
Last year, we honoured a man who rescued some workers trapped in a sewer manhole. The hunt is on for this year’s recipient, and you are the hunters.
Give us the cases you think are deserving, and we will put some of them in a voting platform where you, the readers of The Norton Times, will continuously vote for the most deserving!
Lastly, in The Norton Times this week, enjoy the usual dose of Mayor’s Usual Nonsense! The topic? Well, its something about what happened at Ngoni Stadium on MWOScot Day! We even have a few fan photos!
Some of the people you can expect to see in our latest issue of The Norton Times are featured in this week’s puzzle. Enjoy.
