The prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun witnessed a grand ceremonial Passing Out Parade (POP) on Saturday, marking the culmination of the rigorous training for the Spring Term 2025. A total of 451 Gentlemen Cadets (GCs), including 419 Indian cadets and 32 foreign cadets from friendly countries, proudly marched on the historic drill square, stepping into the ranks of commissioned officers in their respective armies. 2. A total number of Sri Lankan Army officers trained and commissioned from IMA has now reached 296. The Rudrastra drone represents advancement in India’s military technology. Developed by Solar Aerospace and Defence Limited, it was recently tested by the Indian Army. Rudrastra is a hybrid drone designed for battlefield operations. It can take off like a helicopter and fly long distances like a jet. This versatility makes it difficult to detect. The drone is engineered for anti-personnel roles, targeting enemy soldiers with high accuracy. 3. The clashes came amidst a “de-escalation” process in the Galwan area. Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu MVC (13 February 1983 – 15 June 2020) was an Indian Army officer and the commanding officer of 16 Bihar Regiment. He was killed in action during the 2020 China–India skirmishes, the first Indian Armed Forces commissioned officer since 1967 and among the first Indian soldiers to have been killed in action against the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) since 1975.
