🛣️ *Douala City Council set to school individuals on building permits* 🏢🏗️ Douala's City Council has generated 2.176 billion CFA francs from urban planning administrative acts between 2020 and 2024, doubling its revenue over the five-year period. This was disclosed by the council recently during a press conference, in prelude to the Urban Planning and Construction Days in Douala event. This growth is attributed to the establishment of a one-stop shop in February 2022, streamlining land use and construction permits. The number of building permits issued also doubled from 300 in 2020 to 600 in 2024. Despite this progress, the City Council of Douala notes that 85% of buildings in the city are constructed without adhering to urban planning rules. To address this, the third annual Urban Planning and Construction Days of Douala, set to hold from the 10th to the 13th of June, in Bonanjo, will aim to educate residents on the importance of obtaining urban planning administrative acts before investing.
