The boundary of the Haram ends at Jabal Namirah, and it is at this location that the Ansaabul Haram (boundary markers) were placed by the hands of Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhis-Salaam); & angel Jibreel was with him, showing him the exact places for the Ansaab. During the days of ignorance, the Mushrikeen of Quraysh, when performing Hajj, would refuse to go beyond the boundary into Arafat, considering it beneath their status and against their pride to leave the Haram. Instead, they would stop at the Ansaab. However, Allah Abolished this arrogant practice, and made standing at Arafat (Wuquf-e-Arafat) a compulsory (fard) pillar of Hajj. What’s truly surprising is that while the Mushrikeen clearly knew and respected the Ansaab (boundary markers) of Haram-al-Makki, today many people, even those who have lived in Makkah for over 40 years, have never even heard of these sacred markers.
