The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Achieves Major Advancement in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has achieved a remarkable milestone on the global academic stage, securing a place in the 801–1000 band in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025 — a notable improvement from its 1001–1500 position in 2024. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor IUB, has expressed his profound gratification over this remarkable achievement and acknowledged the steadfast commitment, hard work, and dedication of the university’s faculty, administration, staff, and students, reaffirming IUB’s firm resolve to contribute positively to society. The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings evaluate universities worldwide based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In its 2025 edition, the rankings assessed 2,526 universities from 130 countries and territories, with IUB’s advancement reflecting its enhanced commitment to sustainability, social impact, and academic excellence. IUB earned commendable positions across several SDG categories: • 201–300 for SDGs 1 & 2 • 301–400 for SDGs 6, 7, 14 & 15 • 401–600 for SDGs 10, 11 & 12 • 601–800 for SDGs 9 & 13 • 801–1000 for SDGs 4, 5, 8 & 16 • 1001–1500 for SDG 3 Prof. Dr. Asadullah Madni, Director QEC, extended his sincere gratitude to the university’s academic and administrative leadership for their dedicated efforts in achieving this significant distinction. He especially acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Deans, Registrar, Treasurer, Controller of Examinations, Directors, Chairpersons, Principals, and Heads of Departments. Additionally, he recognized the commendable work of Prof. Dr. Robina Bhatti (Patron, SDGs Collaboration Centre & Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences), Dr. Abid Rasheed Gill (Director, Green Campus Project), Prof. Dr. Salman Bin Naeem (Director SDGs), Prof. Dr. Wajid Naseem Jatoi (Focal Person, CCSC), Engr. Asif Shahzad (Director, Engineering), Ms. Farkhunda Tehseen (Director P&D), Dr. Muhammad Abdullah (Director, CIDs), Prof. Dr. Naveed Aslam Malghani (Principal Officer, Space Management), and Dr. Abdul Latif (Principal Officer, Estate Care) for their dedicated contributions toward this achievement.
