Everyone talks about having a “why.” Like it’s some magic key to success.
But let me be real with you; most “whys” out here are shallow.
You say, “I want to be rich.”
Or “I want to be famous.”
Or worse, “Because my friends are doing it.”
That’s not a why. That’s a wish. A weak one at that.
A real why is not about hype or quick wins. It’s about pain and purpose.
It’s the reason that keeps you grinding when no one is watching.
When your energy is drained. When clients ghost you.
When your posts flop and your bank balance looks sad.
A strong why makes failure feel like fuel, not a dead end.
It gives you grit to say “not today” to distractions and doubts.
So how do you fix a weak why?
1️⃣ Go deep — ask yourself why five times, not once.
2️⃣ Link your why to something that scares you or moves you emotionally.
3️⃣ Make it personal — no one else’s reasons will carry you forever.
4️⃣ Write it down. Read it daily. Live it.
5️⃣ Use it as a compass, not a hashtag.
Weak whys get you to the starting line, but strong whys run the whole race.
If you’re stuck in the hype, the noise, or the surface level, dig deeper.
Find a reason that shakes you. That wakes you before the alarm.
That’s the why that wins.
