This Is Not the Kenya We Were Promised My country is a wound that never stops bleeding a scream caught in the throat of the hungry every sunrise feels like betrayal every night, a funeral without a name They killed him Not a thug But just the wall punched him And the DIG expects us to clap for him For stepping aside... Parliament? A comedy show jokes in tailored suits arguing over who shouts louder while we drown in taxes they never feel Bread is a luxury now hope is for the foolish We chant β€œfreedom” with cracked lips our backs bent under levies we didn’t vote for while their children fly out to "better schools" Our children vanish in dark alleys chalk outlines and silence. The poor die loud The rich live quietly behind tinted windows watching us burn and calling it progress But I still cry for Kenya not the one on TV the one we bleed for every day And I wonder how long can a country eat its own before there's nothing left but bones? https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaWTkG2BPzjdJd9AeV3k Ζ˜ΤΌΖ³Ζ¦Ζ–Ζ‡Ζ›ΤΌ Ζ¦Σ‡Ζ³MΠ„Ζ§ β„’
