Gauteng – SAPS Germiston Flying Squad arrested five suspects and recovered a firearm following a targeted operation. Members acted on information about suspects traveling from Mpumalanga on the N12 Highway towards Johannesburg, allegedly in possession of a firearm. The vehicle, carrying five occupants, was intercepted at the N12 Voortrekker Road off-ramp in Alberton. Upon searching the vehicle, members discovered a firearm with its serial number filed off and nine live rounds of ammunition. All five suspects were arrested on the scene.
