KwaZulu-Natal – A 49-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday night, 17 June 2025, after he was found in possession of two illegal AK-47 assault rifles and a pistol at his home in Adams Mission, within the KwaMakhutha policing precinct. The arrest was carried out by members of the Economic Infrastructure Task Team (EITT) during a targeted operation. The recovered firearms will undergo ballistic testing to determine whether they are linked to any crime scenes in KwaZulu-Natal or elsewhere in the country. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
