*Who is a poet* A mewling child who has tasted beauty A mere lover with a broken heart ,being moulded by a damsel A kindred spirit with a lonely soul tired of being alone A seer with wisdom for the young to ponder The prophet with oracles to the multitude A proud author with a glimpse of the golden visage to magnificent But really who is a poet ? maybe its he Calling himself a knight fighting for justice in the most polite way When still his sword slains they who read the scribbles of his ink Or probably THE pantaloon trying to vindicate one's self within a stanza But the bible did say "he who excuses himself, accuses himself" So who is a poet ? Apparently they say art is poetry speaking in silence Got me thinking about the jester trying so hard to snatch smiles From the back of the crowds Shifting my veiw to the painter with the navy blue Monalisa in hand Then they, who orchestrate thier voice to perfect harmony Letting us dance to these melodic symphonies I see it as the reader The believer, in speech He who grasps the concepts tossed to the windows of their soul from a worthless paper Making it priceless For wisdom given to a fool will be useless But to the curious its more than just beautiful words So i say the poet is you Me Him Her And the one up there ~ Cleenton ~
