*PHANEROO~DEVOTION* Sunday, 15th June 2025 Apostle Grace Lubega *Daniel 5:25-27 (KJV):* And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. *UNDERSTANDING GOD’S HEART: THE WRITING ON THE WALL* In the palace of Babylon, God interrupted King Belshazzar's lavish feast with an open message. This message, written by God's own hand on the wall, was a public declaration of judgment. Belshazzar had ignored God's warnings, mocked sacred things, and hardened his heart to instruction. So God did something guaranteed to get His attention. But this is not God's primary mode of operation. He is not a God who wishes to expose you or your failures. God desires intimacy with His children. He longs to lead, correct, and instruct us in the secret place. He delights in hearts that are tender and responsive to His voice. But when pride hardens our hearts and we resist His gentle nudges, we force heaven to speak more loudly—sometimes even publicly. Why should God 'write on the walls of your life' what He has already quietly instructed you about? Sometimes, the delays, disruptions, or even embarrassments we face are not because God delights in exposing us but because we refused His private counsel. He tried to get our attention through the Word, a spiritual authority, or the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit. But we did not break. We did not humble ourselves. And so, as with Belshazzar, the writing comes—not in secret, but on the wall. A heart of humility doesn’t need such a loud rebuke to heed God's voice. It bows at a whisper. It doesn’t wait for things to fall apart before repenting. It discerns that God’s first approach is always love, grace, and quiet instruction. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice” (John 10:27). He didn’t say, “My sheep wait for signs.” Let your heart be soft enough that God never has to prove a point publicly to get your attention. Let Him correct you in the closet so He doesn’t have to call you from a stage. God is not interested in exposing you—He’s interested in transforming you. *FURTHER STUDY:* Proverbs 3:11–12; Psalm 32:8–9 *GOLDEN NUGGET:* A heart of humility doesn’t need such rebuke to heed to God's voice. It bows at a whisper. It doesn’t wait for things to fall apart before repenting. It discerns that God’s first approach is always love, grace and quiet instruction. *PRAYER:* Father, I choose humility today. You teach me to hear You when You speak quietly. May my heart be tender, responsive, and quick to obey. I repent of every moment I hardened myself against Your counsel. Keep me from the need for loud correction—lead me in quietness, and I will follow. In Jesus’ name, Amen. bit.ly/HowToDiscernThePurposesOfGod *#phaneroodevotion📜*
