Message by Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, on the Occasion of Father’s Day, 15 June 2025 The President of the Republic of Namibia, Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, joins the Namibian people and the global community in celebrating Father’s Day. In her message, President Nandi-Ndaitwah says: “On Father’s Day, a special day dedicated to honouring fathers, father figures and their positive influence in society, I extend heartfelt wishes to all the men in Namibia who embrace the vital role of fatherhood with love, dignity, and a sense of responsibility. Fathers are crucial pillars and guardians of families and society, which makes their influence and impact immeasurable. Through their sacrifices and guidance, fathers shape the character of children and contribute immensely to building compassionate and successful communities. At a time when young boys risk being left behind, the presence of fathers and father figures as positive rolemodels is even more vital. Father’s Day is therefore an opportunity for the nation to recognise and to appreciate fathers who are present in their families, take their children to school, who nurture and protect, teach and inspire families and communities. We celebrate the hard-working fathers who wake up each day with a commitment to provide for their households and to set positive examples for the next generation. I call on fathers and father figures to play their part in protecting families and contribute to the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and a crime-free Namibia. It is through strong and safe families where fathers play their part that we can build a safer and resilient Namibia. On Father’s Day, I urge fathers to continue to promote positive fatherhood and ensure that every child grows up with the care, guidance, and support they need to thrive. Happy Father’s Day!”
