*The Final Goodbye* It all began when at An encounter chance, Over poetry we both held dear We crossed path, and something sparked I had her at her lowest, She had me at mine, Together we tried writing Our own poem not destined to rhyme Fate had been cruel to us both I had my own issues, she had hers Together we held fort Fighting death like a sport We knew in our head About it being a battle lost But with spans of black-outs ever frequent She knew in her head That a final goodbye Was always around the corner And so the day came, When she in her final moments With gasps of breath almost stolen Wished me a birthday happy, Whispering in my ears A shattered cry, a feeble plea She lived through the pain And ensured my birthday Doesn’t turn an anniversary any different The cruel fate at play again She left the world for something better Where she can be at peace eternal And now I roam in mourning eternal Seeking her in silenced echoed wails Wanting to fight death face to face For I have lies to expose And a wound to heal I remember her in the youthful twilight Searching for her through matured noons Seeking her through the evening gloom The sombre clock ticks in mourning silence I live with this curse of losing her, Of loving so deep and with all my heart Only to find her in deep eternal sleep I cradle sorrow, as if a bane, As I rot beneath the vast sky Tearing up at her final goodbye ~Echoes Of Ink
