*Another Chance* Everyone seems to know What I deserve, None ever wanting to care About what I desire Perhaps they may buy me off But I warn them loud and clear They won’t even get to touch me Life, they say, Doesn’t always Give you a second chance Some, like me, however, Defy all odds To snatch from life Another chance We promised to each other Hand in hand, Heart in heart Miles to go before we sleep But finding nothing in our favor We decided to step aside, Yet remain firm When the going gets tough As they popularly say, The tough get going I know this may look odd, But my dear past, Would you mind giving Love, another chance? Not a day, I can tell you, Has ever since passed, When I did not remember You in my thoughts— Those texts, photos and smiles, All fly by, still very fresh, Lighting up a dull sky. I fondly remember you And shall ever do so. That smile of yours, May it rejuvenate, Flowers dropping dead Brightening up in the process A thousand dim skies Your shady curly hair Shielding the beautiful you From the sinister world They’ve been blessed To calm many uneasy souls Channeling their vigor, In something of greater worth. In our parting note, I remember you saying, That I deserved something More brighter, more worthy, Of my time and energy. But my friend, all that glitters, May not necessarily be gold. This worldly idiosyncracy, I hate it so dearly. I rather prefer to build a hut Than to inherit a palace grand Money could never buy me, And it never ever shall. My priority always - the heart As you read this, Trying to conceal the emotions Anger, happiness, and laughter, Kisses thy gentle soul. Asking you, in perfect silence, Do I deserve another chance? Will you give me another chance? ~ Echoes Of Ink
