Data Commissioner @Ikassait this morning launched a three-day data protection training program for public agencies, starting with the financial sector. This initiative will extend to the ICT and education sectors. The training is tailored to the financial sector, focusing on practical obligations, sector-specific risks, and the legal framework for data processing. In her remarks, the Data Commissioner noted that the session will unpack the compliance obligations of data controllers and processors, the rights of data subjects, the importance of lawful processing bases, security safeguards, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and the management of data breach. "It is our expectation that by the end of this training, each participant will have a clear understanding of not just the letter of the law, but also the ethical responsibility we bear in protecting personal data, " the Data Commissioner noted.
