🍷 *Tourists in Georgia Drinking Less Wine* Georgy Mshvidobadze, chairman of Georgian Wine Holding, says export wine sales are satisfactory, but domestic market sales lag behind in the first five months of 2025. He attributes the drop in local wine consumption mainly to the country's political situation, which shifted focus away from wine drinking. The HoReCa sector saw reduced wine consumption due to fewer tourists, especially those who typically drink wine. Some small wine businesses and shops have faced closures or changed their business profiles, further impacting sales. In the first four months of *2025*, Georgian wine exports fell by *43%* to *$72 million*, largely due to a drop in exports to Russia—the largest market. Russia’s share of Georgian wine exports dropped to *56.2%* from *78.6%* in the previous year.
