*What is Adivasi?* The Hindi term *"Adivasi"* is a combination of two words 1. *"Adi" (आदि):* This Hindi word means *"beginning," "origin," or "early times".* 2. *"Vasi" (वासी):* This Hindi word means *"resident," "dweller," or "inhabitant".* Hindi word Adivasi literally translates to *"original inhabitants" or "early settlers"*. It's a self-designation used by various tribal groups in India to refer to themselves as the indigenous or first people of the land. So, combining the two, "Adivasi" signifies those who have been living in a place since the earliest times. Whereas Kuki is not native term but a foreign term coined by the British or Bengali. The term kuki is not native. So, the People may be Adivasi but the term kuki made them non-Adivasi as they identified themselves by a non-native and foreign term called kuki. *Follow the THADOU NAM channel on WhatsApp*: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vajgi2J8fewudfe02X3m
