A major train accident occurred near Chak Jhamera, Jhang, when the Shalimar Express collided with a tractor-trailer loaded with bricks on Monday, 21 May 2025. The incident happened at an unprotected railway crossing. Eyewitnesses say that minutes before the train arrived, the tractor-trailer got stuck on the tracks. When the driver realized the train was approaching, he disconnected the tractor from the trailer and fled the scene.
