Everyone should know this: 1. In an interview, you sell your skills (or at least try to). 2. Once you get a job, you sell to clients. 3. Once you become a boss, you sell your vision to your employees. But the strange part is no one likes to be sold. This is the trick: selling isn’t about pushing a product; it’s about sharing value and creating excitement. My professor, Ndubuisi Ekekwe, sold bold ideas for a living, and interestingly, he was never considered a salesman. Simply, don’t sell anything —show its worth. If they see value, it’s already sold. People don’t want to be sold to they want to be inspired. Share value, create excitement, and the sales follow.
