A Wooden Statue of King Ramses I. The Statue represents Ramses in a Standing position and wearing a Nemes Headress. The Left foot is Forward. The left hand is raised and holding a Stick. The Eyes and Eyebrows were inlaid and there position appears on the statue. This Statue was discovered with another Statue as both statues were Considered Guardian Statues to Ramses I’s Tomb which is also Similar to the Guardian Statues discovered in Tutankhamun’s Tomb (KV 62). Dates back to the 19th Dynasty, The New Kingdom Period (1318 BC). Discovered in the Tomb of King Ramses I (KV 16) in the Valley of the Kings in West Thebes, Egypt by Giovanni Belzoni in 1817. The Statue is among the Egyptian Collection in the British Museum but it’s not currently Displayed. #thebritishmuseum
