The Stone Coffin of “Payuhor”. The Coffin Represents Payuhor wearing a wig with his ears exposed. The Coffin has 7 Columns of Hieroglyphic inscription. These Hieroglyphic texts include Magic Formulas of reuniting the spirit with the body after Death. Above the Inscription there is a scene of Payuhor as a Mummy with Goddess Isis from the right and Goddess Nephthys from the left and the four sons of Horus stand as protectors of the four organs. There is the representation of a Goddess in the interior of the Coffin which is Probably Goddess Nut. Payuhor was a Priest of Amun, of Isis and Khonsu, Controller of the Cooks, and Keeper of the Chest. Dates back to the early Ptolemaic Period (Late 4th Century to the early 3rd Century BC). Discovered in the Tomb of Pabasa (TT 279) in Assasif in Thebes, Egypt by MMA excavations in 1918 till 1919. Displayed in The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, United States. #met
