Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has urged Kenyans, especially Gen Z, to turn their activism into action by registering as voters ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking on June 19, Matiang’i said that while the recent efforts by Gen Z are commendable, they will amount to little without political participation. He stressed that securing a voter’s card should be a top priority for young people seeking meaningful change. “We can do as much as we want, but if we are not registering and preparing to vote, we have not succeeded,” he said.
