If all of Greenland’s ice melted, global sea levels would rise by 24 feet. Scientists are growing increasingly concerned that this melting is speeding up—and they’re digging deep (literally) to find answers. By extracting ancient rock samples from beneath the ice sheet, researchers are uncovering clues about the last time Greenland was actually green—and what that could mean for our future.
