♻️🍀I never wanted to pastor a mega church. Not because I don’t believe in growth — but because I never wanted to lose touch. I wouldn’t attend a church where I couldn’t reach leadership, get prayed for when I needed it, or where help required an appointment and a secretary. 💭 And yet, people love to throw shade at small churches. “Y’all too small.” “Ain’t no parking lot team.” “Y’all don’t have LED screens or food courts.” “It’s giving ‘still trying.’” But when your life falls apart at 11PM, 📞 it’s the small church you call. 📞 It’s the local pastor who answers. 📞 It’s the ‘unpolished’ ministry you DM when the depression won’t lift, when the miscarriage happens, when the eviction notice hits, when the hotline doesn’t answer fast enough. 🧠 And I get it… This is not a knock on mega churches. Some are doing amazing work for the kingdom — But it’s wild how many people will: • Post their big church’s highlights, • Tithe to their big church’s brand, • Boast about the “experience,” …yet call us when their mega pastor says, “Submit an email and we’ll try to schedule something.” Call us when the prayer request goes unanswered. Call us when their church feeds 500 but somehow forgets them. 🚨 Let me say this in love: We aren’t the backup plan. We’re not the “discount discipleship.” We’re not “the side church.” We’re the ones God planted in the trenches to be reachable, real, and relational. And we do it with limited budgets, limited buildings, and no fancy hashtags — just faith, oil, and obedience. 🙏🏽 This ain’t bitterness. It’s clarity. I love the Church — big and small. But don’t dishonor where you eat in secret while applauding where you pose in public. Because when it gets real — it’s the ones you mocked that’ll still show up, still pray, still serve, and still love you. We’re not doing this for fame. We’re doing this because we were called — not chosen by culture, but commissioned by Christ. Shoutout to every pastor still answering the phone. Still praying when it hurts. Still giving when there’s nothing left. Still shepherding without a stage. We see you. God sees you.
